چکیده

Deformation damage during tension and compression were revealed using in-situ neutron diffraction for a high manganese steel: (1) When the tensile stress is increased, an indication of provided when 111 422 lattice strains along transverse direction give no more contraction or even expansion. This because that replacement slip twinning activities by crack propagation induces relaxation, which can outweigh damaged planes. (2) For also amplitude decreased, increase 111, 220, 311, strain amplitudes loading indicates damage. micro-cracks decrease effective elastic modulus not favored compression. The identified grains both cases belong to same set. Distribution in fractured samples similar from featuring large Taylor factors. cracks mainly distributed at surface. It due stronger deformation heterogeneity ratcheting events surface rather than interior. During tension-compression fatigue loading, grain boundaries narrow twins often correspond different transversal expansion those other areas. may trigger flaws as nuclei cracks. findings point important relations among damage, strains, plastic activities, well behavior differences between

The Effect of Deformation Temperature on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Evolutions of High Manganese TWIP Steel

In this study, the effect of tensile test temperature (148 to 673 K) on the microstructural evolutions and the mechanical properties of high manganese twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel with the chemical composition of Fe- 31Mn-3Al-3Si (wt. %) was investigated. XRD, SEM and TEM were used to study the microstructural evolutions. Stacking fault energy (SFE) of the alloy was also calculated ...

PREDICTION OF HOT DEFORMATION BEHAVIOUR OF A PH STAINLESS STEEL AT HIGH STRAIN RATES

In this study the hot deformation behaviour of a precipitation hardened (PH) stainless steel at high strain rates has been predicted through hot compression testing. Stress-strain curves were obtained for a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 10+1 S-1 and temperatures from 850 to 1150°C. Results obtained by microstructure and stress-strain curves show that at low temperatures and high strain rat...

Effect of Deformation Temperature on the Mechanical Behavior of a New TRIP/TWIP Steel Containing 21% Manganese

In recent years, TRIP/TWIP steels have been the focus of great attention thanks due to their excellent tensile strength-ductility combination. The compression tests were performed at different temperatures from 25 to1000°C to study the mechanical behavior of advanced austenitic steel with 21% manganese plus bearing Ti. The results indicated that the plastic deformation is controlled by deformat...

Spatially-resolved structure and electronic properties of graphene on polycrystalline Ni.

We have used in situ low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM) to correlate the atomic and electronic structure of graphene films on polycrystalline Ni with nm-scale spatial resolution. Spatially resolved electron scattering measurements show that graphene monolayers formed by carbon segregation do not support the π-plasmon of graphene, indicating strong covalent bonding to the Ni. Graphene bilayer...
